The long awaited Queenscliff Play Space was officially opened on Saturday, 21 March 2010 by local Federal Member for Corangamite, Mr Darren Cheeseman.

The Queenscliff Play Space is an interactive area, that is accessible to all ages and abilities and offer both passive and active play equipment, that recognises the four play types - physical play, social interaction, creativity and educational.
The project has already seen a number of social and community benefits including increased tourism and has enhanced the health, wellbeing and social connectivity of residents and visitors to Queenscliff.

The project has also seen improvements to the quality and use of public open space and improved playground facilities in the Borough.
From its inception the Play Space was a community project fully supported by Council and the community.

The Play Space Working Group dedicated many hours to developing concepts, design and preferred locations for a Queenscliff Playground.

The final design and completion has been an excellent example of community participation and engagement in a project that will be an important community asset for many years.

The Play Space has been made possible by the support of the Federal Department of Infrastructure’s Regional and Local Community Infrastructure Program and significant local support from the Queenscliff Community Market, the Queenscliff‐Lonsdale Rotary Club and the Community Play Space Committee.
